Becoming an educational counsellor will require degrees in education, psychology and /or counselling. After a bachelors’ degree, some experience is highly valued before proceeding to a masters’ degree. Then a license is generally required to start practicing. For becoming an educational counsellor one must have an interest and aptitude for psychology. It is also important to have good skills in interacting with people by being able to understand them, and successively helping them. It is a crucial need which can be developed with the right education and considerable practice.

Their duty is to assist students and parents in these life-changing decisions by simply helping them to help themselves and make a decision that they are happy with.
