1.    Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)

3.    Jawaharlal Nehru University

Located in New Delhi, the Jawaharlal Nehru University was named after the first Prime minister of India. The university is mainly known for its strong commitment to teaching and research emphasis on applied sciences and liberal arts.  With a student base of around 7300, JNU ranks high on graduate outreach. Moreover, it offers 10 undergraduate and 34 postgraduate programs in 20 schools spread across its campus in Delhi.

4.    University of Delhi

The University of Delhi, popularly known as DU, is one of the oldest universities in India. Established in 1922, DU has become India’s largest institution of higher learning. With over 130,000 students, the University of Delhi ranks among the world’s largest institutions in the world.

DU has two main campuses – North Campus and South Campus – with 77 colleges that offer a variety of courses. Thousands of students every year try to get into one of these colleges since a degree from DU carries a prestigious value.

5.    University of Hyderabad

The University of Hyderabad is not far behind DU. Established in 1974, the university is younger than others, and still has managed to top the ranks. This shows that the University of Hyderabad is committed to teaching and student support. In 2015, it won the visitor’s award for the best central university in India.
