  • Cost of living also depends in which city you have to live. For instance, if you live in Milan or Rome, then living there is considerably high as compared to other cities. For accommodation, it is always recommended to live in shared apartments as it helps in avoiding extra expenses to some extent. Moreover, if it’s impossible for you to adjust with someone in your apartment, then go for university hostel or your own apartment by spending extra money from your pocket. 
  • Average cost of shared apartments – €250 – €500 per month.
  • Average cost of students living alone in apartment – €400 – €700 per month
  • Student accommodation cost – €250 – €300 per month. 

Transportation costs 

Italian public transport is the most convenient and affordable mode of transport for international students. Even for exploring Italy, you can use the Italian railway system which is pretty good and comfortable for travelling in between cities. Also, advance booking can get you 70% discounts as well. To travel in your city, use public bus and for that, get a monthly transport pass for students. It will cost around €25 – €45 per month. 

Living costs

The expenditures are not limited to just tuition fees and accommodation. There are several other expenses like food and groceries which are very crucial. Other than this, there are so many miscellaneous expenses like water bills, electricity bills, internet charges, leisure activities, entertainment, phone bills, etc. The estimated average costs for all of these are listed below:

Entertainment – €30 – €40 EUR each week.

Books and other stationery materials – €40 and €50 EUR per month

Groceries from cheap supermarkets – €150 – €200 per month

Average restaurant dining – €8 to €16
