There were 18429 Indian students who got admission to Ukrainian Universities which is the highest among other countries. This accounts for 22.9% of international students. It is the most affordable country in terms of living as well as tuition fees. This is the reason why this country has captivated a large number of students from India. Here is an overview of the cost and expenses incurred in this country during your study program.  

  1. TUITION FEES 

Tuition fees in any university depend on the following factors:

  1. Level of course ( bachelor or master or preparatory)

  2. Field of your study ( medicine, engineering, the management or humanities & arts) 

Level Of course:

  1. Bachelor program –  $2000 – $3500

  2. Master program –  $1000 – $2000

  3. Preparatory program – $1200 – $2000

Field Of Study (In the English language):

  1. Medical studies – $4000 – $5000

  2. Engineering – $2500 – $3500

  3. Management courses – $2200 – $3500

  4. Humanities & Arts – $1700 – $2600

2. ACCOMMODATION COST 

In any country, you have two alternatives for accommodation:

  1. You can live in a college hostel which will cost you somewhere between $500 – $1000 annually. Rest it depends on the facilities furnished by the hostel.

  2. Flats or rented apartments are a bit steeper than college hostels. They will cost you around $200 per month. Rest depends on the condition of that flat or apartment. 

3. ADMINISTRATIVE COST 

Apart from tuition fees, you are liable to pay administration charges for the following purposes:

  1. University registration

  2. Residential Permit Processing

  3. Medical test

  4. Medical Insurance

  5. Immigration Insurance

  6. Hostel Insurance

The average amount that you have to pay is $200 – $300 annually but this amount does vary across different universities. 

4. TRANSPORTATION COST 

Being an international student, apart from going to college, you will definitely explore the city in which you will be living. So, you need to travel to different places. The mode of transport you can use there is either public transport or a private taxi. A monthly ticket for public transport will cost you $11 approximately while if you prefer taxi then for a distance of 8 km on a business day, it will cost you around $2.20. 

5. BOOKS & SUPPLIES 

Mostly every university has a library and you can collect your textbooks from the library. If you want your books privately then you can purchase them. The stationary items are cheaper in Ukraine. For example, the packet of 1000 plain paper will cost you $2 in Ukraine.

6. LIVING COST

Living expenses in any country totally depends on your behaviour and lifestyle. If you are spendthrift then your living cost will be high. Although, it is recommended to put a limit on your unwanted expenses and keep a record of every expense that you incur. 

  1. Entertainment cost – Dine out for two people will cost you around $9. Two tickets to the movies will cost you around $5. The gym has become a necessity for students as they have become fitness freaks. So, the gym membership for one month will be around $25.

  2. Food and grocery – Food is very cheap in this country. In $1, you can purchase 4 kg of potatoes, 4 kg of onions, and 3 litres of milk.

  3. Apparels – Quality clothes are available at cheaper rates. For instance, jeans will cost you around $20, the shirts will cost you $10 – $20, T-shirts will cost you $10 – $20.
