It is not necessary to work in only those fields which are popular and have several jobs. You should research about your field and the potential jobs in that. See, how many job profiles are there and how easy is to switch between them.

How much growth is in the career field since the last decade?
This factor is very crucial for your career growth. You shall investigate about the how much growth has happened in the career field since last decade. If the growth was stagnant but it is predicted to progress, then that’s a good domain to enter.

What are my short-term and long-term goals?
Identify what do you want to achieve within short period i.e. your short term goals. For example – working on projects, learning international language, etc. Also, identify what do you want to achieve withing 5 years from now, i.e. your long term goals. For example – you want to work with a MNC, travel abroad, etc.

Where do I want to get settled?
Decide where do you want to get settled. If you wish to remain in your home country, then search for education and job opportunities there only. But if you wish to settle abroad, you need to start now and prepare according to the standards accepted in abroad.
