The USA is the most expensive education destination in the world. Many students want to pursue their studies in the splendid environment of American Universities. Scholarships depend upon your academic skills and merits that you have received in the past. Only exemplary students get these kinds of accolades. Scholarships are in the form of money. Every year, thousands of students look for information about the scholarships available for them. The scholarship is of two types:
1.Full scholarship will include tuition fees as well as your living expenses.
2. Partial scholarship which includes only tuition fees.
There are various scholarships available for Indian students especially for those who wish to study in USA after 12th standard or graduation. Some of them are described below:
1. TATA SCHOLARSHIP FOR CORNELL UNIVERSITY
Cornell University has received donations from Tata education and development trust to provide financial help to meritorious Indian students who wish to study in their university. The Indian company has given about $25 million and hence the university is giving scholarships to 20 Indian students.
2. THE INDIAN TRUST FELLOWSHIP SCHOLARSHIP
The Indian Trust Fellowship grants scholarship to those Indian graduates who want to pursue a full time MBA at Booth School Of Business in Chicago. A total sum of $10,000 will be given to two students who are exceptionally good in academics and have achievements in extracurricular activities.
3. ROTARY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Rotary Clubs scholarships are for everyone except their own members and associates. They provide scholarships that last from one to four years or even cover the whole program. Their criteria of selection is based on the subjects that a student is going to study abroad. Actually, they offer scholarships to only those students who are going to study in any one of the fields given below:
1. Promoting heath of mothers and children
2. Water sanitation
3. Develop education
4. Economic Development
5. Promoting peace
6. Protection from diseases
4. INLAKS SHIVDASANI FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
The Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation has been awarding scholarships in Indian since 1976. Scholarships are granted to those students who want to pursue their higher studies in North America or Europe. The scholarship amount is not more than $100,000. If your tuition fee in addition with living expenses exceeds $100,000 then you have to prove to them that you will cover the rest of the expenses on your own. You will not be given scholarships if you are doing your higher studies related to these subjects : fashion design, computer science, business studies, medicine, engineering, music and film animation.
5. MICROSOFT SCHOLARSHIPS
Worldwide notable company, Microsoft offers scholarships for students who want to pursue higher studies in computer science and STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) disciplines. The students should be passionate towards learning and discovering about the technology and software industry. Only tuition fees are covered in scholarship amount.
6. NAROTAM SEKHSARAI POSTGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP
This is a merit based scholarship for Indian students who want to pursue post-graduation in America. Applicants should have good hold over the academic scores in subjects like law, applied sciences, architecture, social sciences, humanities and management. The scholarship amount is Rs. 20 lakhs maximum which will be awarded according to the performance in the assessment test.
7. STANFORD RELIANCE DHIRUBHAI FELLOWSHIPS
Reliance Industries along with Stanford Business School has started giving scholarships named Stanford Reliance Dhirubhai Fellowships for commendable Indian students to financially assist them for their studies in Stanford Business School. Total 5 fellowships are given by them which makes a total of $150,000 scholarship amount. But there is a condition associated with this scholarship. After completing MBA, students have to return to India and work in Indian organization.
8. AKHTARALI H. TOBACCOWALA FELLOWSHIP
This scholarship is being given in the memory of Akhtarali H. Tobaccowala who graduated from Booth School in 1952. This scholarship offers financial help to those who want to pursue a full time MBA from Booth school. A total sum of $10,000 will be given as a scholarship amount. This scholarship is only for Indian students. They will be assessed on the basis of their academic excellence and other achievements.
