India is a country that is appreciated for its cultural and historical evolution. India is recognized as a South Asian powerhouse which is alluring a large number of students as well as tourism due to rich heritage and culture. Our country appears to be very warm and welcoming. India’s doors are always open to everyone in the world. In India, guests are treated and worshipped as a god. So now you can envisage how cultures are persecuted among Indians. The culture’s persecution is not only limited to social life but educational institutes are also adhering to the norms set by society. Universities are always trying to provide the most reliable environment for their students. While talking about University culture, we must be able to define the components on the basis of which we can define the culture of that university. Generally, a University is ranked after taking into consideration its academics and campus. The culture and life of a student also lie in these two spheres – academics and campus. So we have academic culture and campus culture as our components to derive conclusions about the university culture in India. 

Academic Culture: Academic culture of any University constitutes academic outlooks, academic ethics, and the environment. It demonstrates the common values, spirits, and behavioral attitudes of students and teachers who are there for study and research. It is very much reflected in the academic outlook of the university. Now, what is the academic outlook? So the academic outlook is the notions of the people regarding development and evaluation in academics. In India, the academic outlook is based on the fact that the education ministry always brings changes in the syllabus of students and keep it up to date with the modernization in the world. All the courses are taught in English. High standard education is emphasized in the universities. Research culture is pretty famous among Indian students. Lectures are no more restrained to ceaseless talks by your teachers but also involve PowerPoint presentations, site visits, and much more. 

Campus Culture: The campus culture of any university is recognized by its environment, sanitation, beauty, facilities, and creativity. The campus of any college inspires students to do some innovation in their lives. Campus culture is defined through three aspects: 

1) Campus Material Culture: It covers the facilities and development of the campus in the form of external materialization.

India is a country with incredible heritage monuments as well as fabulous campus buildings. Classrooms are well equipped with modernized tools. 

2) Campus Institutional Culture: It encompasses the management system prevailing in the university. The rules and regulations system and operations assist in maintaining discipline in the campus.

Indian Universities are flourished in terms of discipline and restrictions. High penalties and punishments are awaiting those who do not follow the system. 

3) Campus Spiritual Culture: Spiritual culture witness the participation of people of that university in various cultural activities. It reflects the psychological attributes and idealogy of the people.

Indians are very active in spiritual participation in the activities organized by the universities. A gust of enthusiasm is in the air when these kinds of festivals are organized on college premises. 

Most of the Indian Universities like IITs, IIMs, Delhi University, University of Mumbai, etc have world-class academic and campus culture. They are renowned on the international levels and welcomes international students from all over the world.
