No doubt Singapore is a famous tourist destination across the planet still it continues to entice an abundance of international students from all over the world because of its sophisticated lifestyle and high tech education. And of course, everyone will get attracted to inexpensive quality education. However, if you are a prospective student seeking to take admission to the prestigious universities of Singapore, then you should be cognizant of Visa specifications and further procedures required.
STUDENT PASS
First of all, you need to know that in Singapore, Student pass and student visa are the same. In Singapore, universities are generally known by the name of Higher Institutes of learning or HIL.
So, you have to apply to the university in which you are seeking admission. Once your admission is approved, you will receive an official offer letter from the institute.
Then you can apply for a student pass for gaining entrance in Singapore. You should apply for a student pass prior to at least one month of your semester or academic year. Your application will be submitted to SOLAR i.e. Student’s Pass Online Application and Registration. The universities will file for Singapore students pass to Singapore Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA) on the behalf of International students.
STUDENT PASS/VISA FEES:
Processing fees: ICA charges processing fee of SGD 30 for every application received which is non-refundable.
Issuance fees: When the student pass is issued, the issuance fee of SGD 60 is charged. You are liable to pay this fee if you have completed the formality to collect student’s pass.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION OF STUDENT PASS

The student visa/pass application form which is ICA form 16 & form V36 should be tendered.

The Visa application fee should be paid on time.

You are obligated to attach the offer letter which you have received from the desired institute.

You have to attach two fresh passport-sized photographs.

You should have a passport with the validity that lasts at least 3 months after your course terminates.

Test scores of those exams like GMAT, IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, etc as per the specifications of your college.

You need to attach your mark sheets from class 10th till the last degree secured.

Bank statements are to be shown in which you have paid the tuition fees and still have sufficient additional funds.

Fixed deposits receipts (if necessary) have to be tendered.

The medical certificate needs to be attached.
It will take around 3-4 weeks to get your student pass to Singapore. After your course is completed, you are required to surrender your student pass to the immigration office. You have one preference after getting a student pass. You are allowed to do a part-time job while studying. So, you don’t any employment pass if your working hours are 16 hours per week. The University sponsor students’ spouse and children for a convivial visit pass if they are graduate students who occupy a student pass. This pass allows them to live in Singapore for a maximum of 4 weeks.
