Studying in Australia is highly sought after due to its excellent education, infrastructure, and exciting ambiance. Management (business, tourism, and hospitality), engineering (biomedical, core), psychology, and law are some courses that are considered to be offered best here.
The first important step to be taken so that students can pursue their subjects of interest in acquiring a student visa. The entire process is quite straight-forward, nevertheless needs to be systematically followed.
Students should consult with their universities of choice to figure out which visa requirement suits them best, but in most cases, they can apply for-
Full-time students: Applicable for students who are enrolled in full-time courses from recognized institutes. This will be valid for up to 5 years. The student must have OSHC (health insurance) and also prove welfare arrangements for students under 18.
This will cost 620 AUD.
Student guardian visa: this is applicable for guardians of students under 18 or older (under certain circumstances) and will last as long as the students’ visa lasts.
It costs AUD620.
Training visa: for up to 2 years, for training or professional training. The student must be sponsored, nominated or invited by the government.
It costs AUD 310 for the main applicant.
Some other requirements that will have to be met-
Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement- Students will have to clarify their purpose for visa requirement, which is for education, and hence may have to show the letter of acceptance from the institute. There may also be an interview.
English proficiency requirements- TOEFL iBT, IELTS
Health and character requirements.
Students should get a visa, not more than 124 days before the course commences.
They can travel to Australia for 90 days (at maximum) before the course commences.
The applicants will also be required to give biometrics at a visa application center.
Students studying online with Australian educational providers can get a confirmation of enrolment (CoE).
